The “Tienes algo mio” sculptures were inspired by- and found their roots in the Voodoo community in Benin. One of the “Tienes algo mio” sculpture was transformed into a Voodoo statuette by one of Benins Voodoo priests: The Fa Oracle. Fa is the means of communication with the gods and ancestors, speaking to them through a complex system of symbols. A few years later I went back to the priest and it really touched me to see that the sculpture was used during the rituals.
