Brenne, located in the Regional Nature Park, is an area north of the Creuse River, with more than 3,000 lakes. Hence the name “Le pays des mille étangs” (the land of a thousand lakes). The lakes are mainly used for freshwater fishing.

Our Brenne is a paradise in terms of flora and fauna. This haven of peace has become our dream destination. As great lovers of nature, plants, herbs, mushrooms, orchids, dragonflies, butterflies and birds, we are in our element here. The Brenne is rich in its diversity of biotopes. In addition to the lakes, there are marshes, reed beds, heathland, buttons, meadows, forests and rivers. It is home to no fewer than 2,300 animal species and 1,600 plant species! Among them, the most emblematic is the European pond turtle.

Castles, abbeys and picturesque medieval villages, each with their own little church, are never far away.

Our cottage, a typical longère dating back to the 16th century, is located in an oasis of peace and quiet in the middle of the lake district of the Regional Nature Park. The longère, located in the hamlet of Le Petit Aslon, is mentioned on the oldest maps of this region. Our cottages, formerly a simple farm, have been renovated in an eco-friendly manner and here we enjoy sharing our lives and our passions with our guests from Brenne & Berry.

Cusko came to stay with us for a while and a “tienes algo mio” statue has found a new home here. Enjoy the charm and tranquillity of the countryside. Peace, quiet and nature.
